BUSINESS TIPS OF THE MONTH
Did everyone purchase mileage
books for 2009?
Mileage books are small and
inexpensive and take only 10
seconds to track business miles
driven during the year. They can
be purchased at any office
supply store. There are also a
number of electronic calculators
available now for blackberries
and iphones.
Have you set up your filing
system for 2009?
Now is a great time to archive
all the 2008 data and clear
those file drawers for 2009.
Boxes or plastic file tubs are a
fantastic way to store all the
old data and still have easy
access to records if you need
them!
ORGANIZATIONS—PERSONAL TIDBITS
Lots of things going on this
month! I’m participating in The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Team in Training again this
year. I’ll be doing the same
“The Ride around Lake Tahoe”
that I did last year. I’m really
excited about it, since this
year I will be mentoring 4 or 5
new members and well as training
for the ride myself. My ride is
on June 7th. If you want to take
a peek at my Team in Training
website, please click on
http://pages.teamintraining.org/rw/ambbr09/jdavisa63u.
The support I received last year
was amazing. A big “Thank You”
to all who donated to support my
efforts. I realize things are
difficult for people this year,
but I am hoping folks can
continue to show their
compassion by supporting this
terrific charity. My goal is to
raise $2500 by March 1st. This,
of course, is a 100% tax
deductible donation. If you
would like to donate to support
my efforts, please click on the
link above and then hit donate.
I will be mailing out donation
letters within the next couple
of weeks.
As
of this month, I celebrate ten
years in business and am still
going strong! As I look back,
it’s been an interesting
transformation from starting
really small in a bedroom office
in our tiny house in Cloverdale
with only 3 clients… to renting
a small office in Rohnert Park
with over 70. I still love what
I do, and continue to grow my
business—I can’t ask for more
than that!
GROWING MY BUSINESS
Great new clients for me are
those new business owners who
need QuickBooks set up for their
businesses. Many new
businesspeople need a tool to
help them keep track of their
income and expenses. This is a
key factor for success in
starting and/or maintaining your
business and helping to make it
recession-proof.

SPOTLIGHT
A word about my spotlight…
The last two newsletters
generated new client contacts
for those who were in the
spotlight. If anyone would like
to be featured, please let me
know!!
This month’s spotlight is on
Cathy Kurt. I have been going to
Cathy for about a year now. She
does fabulous facials and we
always have a good time!
Cathy Kurt Aesthetics
1301 Farmers Lane, Suite 201
Santa Rosa, CA 95405
(707) 544-0339
Cathy has been a licensed
aesthetician for five years. She
spent the first three years of
her career working for The Wine
Country Day Spa before striking
out on her own. In 2006, Cathy
opened Cathy Kurt Aesthetics and
is presently located in the La
Duca Gehrs Salon in Santa Rosa.
Her services include facials,
peels, waxing, lash and brow
tinting and eyelash extensions.
One of Cathy’s favorite
treatments to give is a facial;
she offers several types to
accommodate the differing needs
of her clients. Cathy usually
recommends facials once a month
to keep the pores clean and dead
skin cells at bay. Those with
special skin conditions, such as
acne, may need to come in for
weekly treatments until the
condition is brought under
control.
The main reason to have a facial
is to deep clean the skin so
pores are functioning properly.
This will result in a vibrant,
healthy, and younger looking
complexion. What separates the
professional facial from
ordinary home care is the
exfoliation and facial massage.
An aesthetician can more
thoroughly clean all areas of
your face. Also, exfoliation is
done with more potent
ingredients than those available
in home care products. Alpha
hydroxy acids or specific
enzymes may be used so that a
deeper level of cleaning is
achieved. This keeps pore
congestion and blackheads under
control.
An
extremely important aspect of
the professional facial is the
facial massage. The massage
serves to stimulate the skin,
increase blood flow, encourage
lymphatic drainage, and relax
facial tension that leads to
deep wrinkles.
To complement her
facials, Cathy retails Jan
Marini Skincare. This is a
professional skin care line with
cutting-edge ingredients to
transform the look and feel of
your skin.
Cathy’s hours are
Tuesday through Friday and every
other Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6
p.m. Gift certificates are
available year round.
